Extranjería in Benidorm: Calle Apolo XI, Altea and the rest of the province

Extranjería in Benidorm means two offices, both by cita previa: the Policía Nacional’s comisaría at Calle Apolo XI 36 for the NIE, the certificates and the cards, and the Subdelegación’s Oficina de Extranjería in Altea, Calle San Isidro Labrador 1, for residence and work authorisations.

Start my NIE

Comisaría de Benidorm, Calle Apolo XI 36

The Policía Nacional’s police directory gives the address as Calle Apolo XI 36, 03500 Benidorm, and lists these procedures for foreigners: NIE certificates and NIE assignment, the EU and non-EU regimes (régimen comunitario y no comunitario), letters of invitation (cartas de invitación) and nationality reports.

For the station’s foreigners’ section, the directory gives the phone number 966 831 934; the town hall’s list of emergency numbers gives 966 831 930 and 966 801 864 for the comisaría in general. No opening hours are published. Every procedure is by appointment, booked through the cita previa system for the province of Alicante, and your confirmation shows the office, the date and the time.

Oficina de Extranjería in Altea

The Subdelegación del Gobierno en Alicante has a second office, its sede 2, at Calle San Isidro Labrador 1, 03590 Altea. For Altea, the government’s page on its foreigners’ offices lists residence and work authorisations and their renewals, return authorisations, family reunification, arraigo (residence through ties to Spain), long-term residence, study stays and the family-member card for relatives of EU citizens, and its list also includes the green certificate for EU residents (certificado de registro).

Public hours are 9:00 to 14:00. The page gives 965 019 300 as the office’s phone and 965 019 260 for information on procedures by phone, also from 9:00 to 14:00. It is a government office, not a police station: it decides on authorisations, while the same page sends the NIE, the TIE card and the certificates to the police offices.

Getting to Calle Apolo XI

No official page we found explains how to reach the comisaría by public transport, so we do not name a stop. Plan the journey from the address, Calle Apolo XI 36, and leave time to find the entrance before your slot.

If you are coming along the coast, the TRAM d’Alacant has stations named Benidorm and Benidorm Intermodal, both on lines 1 and 9; FGV, which runs it, does not relate either of them to the comisaría. In town, the Ayuntamiento names Llorente Bus as the operator of the urban buses.

Which office will you get?

The booking system offers whichever offices still have openings for the procedure you select, so a resident of Benidorm may be sent to Alicante, Elche or further south. Before accepting a slot far away, check that the office lists your procedure: Dénia, Elda-Petrer and Torrevieja, for instance, list the EU and non-EU regimes but not the NIE on its own.
