Cita previa NIE Benidorm: how the appointment is booked

A NIE appointment for Benidorm is booked online, at no cost, on the administration’s own booking website: province of Alicante, then the procedure that matches your form, then an office and a time. Cita previa simply means an appointment arranged beforehand. Procedures for foreigners are handled by appointment, so the choices you make on that website matter.

The booking, one screen at a time

  • Open the official system at sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es: booking there is free
  • Choose the province: Alicante, which covers Benidorm and the whole Costa Blanca
  • Choose the procedure (trámite) that matches the form you are filing
  • Enter your passport or NIE number, your name as written in the passport, and your nationality
  • Pick an office and a time among those the system offers
  • Confirm, then save or print the confirmation with its reference code

Picking the right procedure

The list of procedures uses Spanish administrative names, and they change from time to time, so read them slowly. Match the procedure to your form: form EX-15 for a non-resident’s number, the EX-18 for a European’s green certificate, the EX-17 or the EX-19 for the toma de huellas (fingerprints) of a residence card.

A slot booked under the wrong procedure usually means the office cannot deal with your file that day. If you are unsure, ask us before you book, not after.

Reading the confirmation slip

The confirmation shows the office and its address, the date and time, the procedure you chose and a reference number. It is the one reliable answer to the question of where you are going: in the province of Alicante the system may offer an office other than Benidorm.

The Policía Nacional’s directory publishes no opening hours for the Benidorm station; your slot is the hour shown on the confirmation. Arrive a little early, with it on paper or on your phone.

When no slot appears

Appointments are released at intervals and can go quickly. It helps to look at different times of day, to consider the other offices of the province that list your procedure, and to have the file complete so an early opening can be taken at once. We look for the slot with you and keep everything else ready.

Questions on this floor

Does booking the cita previa cost anything?

No. The official system is free. What you pay is the state fee for the procedure itself, on the 790-012, which is a separate step.

Can I book for my husband or wife in the same session?

Not as one booking. Each person needs their own appointment, made with their own passport details, though you can try to take two slots one after the other.

What if I can no longer attend?

Cancel it on the same system, using your reference number, so someone else can have the slot. Then book again when you can.

Is the appointment always in Benidorm?

Not always. The system covers the whole province, and the office depends on the slot you take. Your confirmation names it.
